Seeking NHK World TV program monitors – NHK WORLD TV is looking for viewers willing to work as NHK WORLD TV program monitors. (At this time NHK World are not looking for NHK WORLD PREMIUM monitors.)

Seeking NHK World TV program monitors
<Monitoring Period>
The six (6) month term, between October 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023 (NHK may request an extension).
<Duties>
NHK WORLD-JAPAN TV Program Monitors are requested to watch programs and submit their comments in English (approximately 130 words) on six (6) NHK WORLD-JAPAN programs per calendar month, in principle.
NHK will provide a list of programs to be monitored. Monitors shall fill in the designated Monitoring Form on Excel file (.xlsx) for program evaluation and commenting.
The form includes a five-level scale evaluation for eleven questions plus a 130 word remarks field. Monitors should submit the form to NHK via e-mail within seven (7) days either after the original broadcast or the program is available on Video on-demand website.

- Viewers of NHK WORLD TV living outside Japan
- *Able to send and receive e-mails
- *Able to write monitor reports in either English or Japanese
- (In principle, Japanese nationals are expected to write in Japanese.)
- have access to NHK WORLD-JAPAN at any time via TV distribution or the internet (NHK WORLD-JAPAN website, iOS apps, or Android apps);

Remuneration will be made by NHK World’ regulation after a term.

<Monitor Selection>
To select monitors, NHK World will carefully consider the content of all applicants’ application forms and their comments. All applications will be carefully screened by NHK and monitors will be appointed. Applicants will be notified of the results by e-mail by mid-September, 2022.

<General Notes>
- *NHK World cannot accept applications from those who have previously been monitors for NHK WORLD and monitors on duty.
- *Please note that we are looking for monitors for NHK World TV, not for NHK World Premium.
- Only one person per household is eligible to apply. If any member of your household, including yourself, has already been assigned as an NHK Monitor in any field, and is currently actively contributing as such, please do not apply.
Remuneration
Monitors will be paid a remuneration of 1,500 Japanese Yen per Monitoring Form accepted by NHK.
