MonitoringClub.org World Media Directory is a curated reference to radio stations, television broadcasters, newspapers, news agencies, digital media, international broadcasting services, media organizations, DXing communities, broadcasting resources, and selected historical media from Indonesia and around the world.
The directory originated from MonitoringClub.org’s long-standing interest in radio listening, DXing, broadcasting, media monitoring, journalism, communications technology, and information documentation. It combines contemporary media references with historically significant entries that help document how broadcasting and digital media have evolved.
Directory note: This is a curated reference rather than an exhaustive database of every media organization in the world. Media organizations frequently change names, ownership, addresses, frequencies, websites, and distribution platforms. Historical entries and legacy links may be retained when they remain useful for research and documentation.
External link policy: Existing third-party links are retained for reference and historical continuity. External links use nofollow and do not imply endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship, or partnership by MonitoringClub.org.
Last major editorial review: September 2026.

How to Use This Directory
The MonitoringClub.org World Media Directory can be used as a starting point for:
- media-monitoring research;
- broadcasting and journalism research;
- radio listening and DXing;
- identifying Indonesian and international media organizations;
- studying public-service and commercial broadcasting;
- researching media distribution and communications systems;
- studying the development of digital journalism;
- broadcast engineering and communications research;
- historical media research;
- researching international broadcasting;
- studying early online communities and social platforms;
- broadcasting education and training; and
- documenting the transition from traditional broadcasting to digital and platform-based distribution.
For research requiring current operational information, users should independently verify details such as frequencies, station coverage, ownership, physical addresses, telephone numbers, editorial leadership, programming schedules, and service availability through the organization concerned or an authoritative regulatory source.
Directory Inclusion Principles
MonitoringClub.org uses a broad but selective approach to this directory. A media organization or resource may be included because of its:
- national or regional significance;
- role in journalism or public information;
- importance to broadcasting history;
- relevance to international broadcasting;
- usefulness for DXing or communications research;
- specialist expertise;
- regional importance;
- historical significance; or
- relevance to MonitoringClub.org’s editorial scope.
Being listed does not mean that MonitoringClub.org considers one media organization superior to another.
Editorial & Verification Policy
The World Media Directory is treated as a continuously evolving reference and historical-documentation resource.
Directory maintenance follows these principles:
- Accuracy over assumptions: a media organization should not automatically be described as active merely because it appeared in an older version of the directory.
- Historical preservation: discontinued, renamed, migrated, or transformed media services may remain when their historical value remains significant.
- Neutrality: inclusion does not constitute endorsement, affiliation, partnership, sponsorship, or agreement with a media organization’s editorial position.
- Transparent uncertainty: where current operating status has not been established, historical information should not be presented as verified current operational information.
- Responsible correction: factual errors should be corrected when reliable information becomes available.
- Selective expansion: the objective is to build a useful and maintainable reference rather than mechanically list every media outlet in every country.
- External-link preservation: legacy third-party links may be retained for reference and historical continuity. Their presence does not guarantee that the linked site remains active, secure, accurate, or under the same ownership.
For more information, see MonitoringClub.org’s Editorial Policy, Content Review & Verification Policy, Disclaimer & Information Responsibility, Corrections Policy, and Editorial Governance Map.
External Links & Information Responsibility
Media organizations, broadcasters, publications, communities, institutions, websites, and products mentioned in this directory are independent third parties unless explicitly stated otherwise.
MonitoringClub.org does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their:
- editorial policies;
- ownership;
- content;
- technical availability;
- privacy practices;
- security practices;
- advertising;
- subscription policies;
- redirects; or
- subsequent changes.
Inclusion or linking in this directory does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, commercial affiliation, or editorial agreement.
External links are provided for informational, research, archival, and navigational purposes and are marked with the nofollow relationship where applicable.

About the MonitoringClub.org World Media Directory
MonitoringClub.org has documented radio listening, broadcasting, media resources, DXing, and information systems since its early years online. The World Media Directory reflects that history.
Its purpose is not simply to maintain a collection of outbound links. The directory provides context about media organizations, their locations, their roles in broadcasting or journalism, and, where appropriate, their historical significance.
This is also why discontinued services are not automatically erased. A shortwave broadcaster that ended transmissions, an early Indonesian blogging community, a discontinued publication, an outdated website, or a social network from the early web may still provide useful evidence of how media and information systems developed.
The directory therefore combines current media reference, broadcasting research, media history, DXing resources, communications research, and historical documentation within a single long-term MonitoringClub.org resource.
Editorial restructure and directory expansion: September 2026.
