About the MonitoringClub.org World Media Directory

MonitoringClub.org has documented radio listening, broadcasting, media resources, DXing, and information systems since its early years online. The World Media Directory reflects that history.

Its purpose is not simply to maintain a collection of outbound links. The directory provides context about media organizations, their locations, their roles in broadcasting or journalism, and, where appropriate, their historical significance.

This is also why discontinued services are not automatically erased. A shortwave broadcaster that ended transmissions, an early Indonesian blogging community, a discontinued publication, an outdated website, or a social network from the early web may still provide useful evidence of how media and information systems developed.
